Synopsis
Part 1
It’s good to know what the Prophet said in the last General Conference — President Nelson proposed great questions about the Book of Mormon — Pondering on our appreciation for the Book of Mormon brings a spirit of gratitude — We should never take the Book of Mormon for granted — Every book of scripture comes to us because of some sacrifice — William Tyndale gave his life for the Bible — The D&C and Pearl of Great Price also came through sacrifice — Our host shares how he gained his testimony of the Book of Mormon — Moroni’s promise includes preparation to receive revelation, not just pray and get an answer — The Book of Mormon led our host to serve a mission — Extended illness challenged him — He confronts his mission president, who offered to send him home — He is assigned to Belize — He returns to Guatemala for the last two months of his mission
Part 2
Our host explains why his last area was in Guatemala and not Belize — He helps one of his last companions understand the Atonement by using the Book of Mormon — Many didn’t understand that was the real reason for his last area assignment — After returning home, our host is gratified to get a letter from that companion thanking him for that life changing conversation — Those who want to take down the Church must discredit the Book of Mormon — They’ll never do it because the book is true and brings those who embrace it closer to God
Part 3
Our host was extremely introverted in high school — His mission call to Guatemala was no mistake — Serving there just as the country was ending a 30-year civil war was just the trick to take our host out of his shell — Our host would not be our host had he not gained the confidence he did from that experience — Without the Book of Mormon, our host would have had his mission experiences — Our host felt appreciation after answering President Nelson’s questions — He recommends the exercise to everyone — We show appreciation for the Book of Mormon by how we integrate it into daily living — How do we use the Book of Mormon? — Irritation with the Gospel Library app — The Book of Mormon was preserved so God could show us His power — The Book of Mormon is filled with power in so many ways
