Synopsis
Part 1
Our focus determines our reality — Too many of us are complacent under the myth that all we need to do to be blessed is to live a righteous life — Our host uses his own experience to debunk the myth — Our blessings come by obedience to the respective law — What’s the law connected to receiving an eternal blessing? — You must do what’s right for you — That’s more than just keeping the standards — Our host shares the entry for “Miracles” in the Bible Dictionary to illustrate the need for action to have miracles — Not just any action will produce the miracle we need; it must the right action — Do we treat the Lord like an errand boy when we pray, or do we counsel with Him? — We need to rethink our definition of opportunity — We need to make our expectations of romance more realistic — We’re imperfect beings living in a telestial world
Part 2
Many allow fear to paralyze them — Our natural tendency is to stay inside our comfort zone — Miracles require us to act outside our comfort zone — Most are willing to accept lives of mediocrity because they just want to be taken care of — More fulfilling lives require miracles, and those require us to act — A great starting point is to make a daily habit of counseling with the Lord — Relying upon God doesn’t mean we never think for ourselves — We need to return and report as part of partnering with the Lord for our lives — The Creation models this approach — Own your life — The stories that we tell to explain our lives matter
Part 3
Embracing a personal ministry is another of the rights things for us all — Knowing the fundamentals of dating can make your dating journey easier — Don’t put the cart before the horse — We can become so focused on the destination that we lose sight of where our feet are and we trip all over ourselves — Many of us wouldn’t need a miracle to begin with if we would just get our thinking straight and start approaching our journey more effectively — Patient fools are more comfortable with their rationalized mediocrity than they are living their best life — Our host started Joy in the Journey Radio because the Lord took him on a transformative journey that he wants other singles to experience — Owning your life is empowering — We can make the miracles we need when we focus on the positive side and doing the rights things for us — Any other approach just keeps single longer than we need to be — We don’t always know when our miracle can come, but we can know that it will come when we walk in faith
